Al Unser Sr. arrived at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May 1987 without a ride, intending to support his son Al Jr.'s effort in the 500. By the end of the month, he'd earned the most unlikely of his four Indy 500 victories, in this March 86C-Cosworth.
